Girls' Day - Part II - Pasta Party

This afternoon was so much fun.....that after everyone spent a few hours doing things they needed to do....we met up again for more food and hanging out.

Vanessa brought over a lot of our dinner ingredients and we threw together a wonderful pasta bar and salad. I put us in aprons since we were in the kitchen! :)

We opened up the table to accommodate everyone and enjoyed our wonderful dinner and some wine too!

We retired to the living room afterwards to enjoy each other's laughs. Table topics turned into just talking about our lives, loves and plans. It was a great way to end the girl's day!

BLTA Day

The original plan was to bike ride and have a picnic at the Mission but the forecast had other plans. So, last night we decided that it was going to be a BLT(A) day instead.

It was a collective effort to get the bacon, lettuce, tomatoes, avocados and bread. Most from the Farmer's Market and a local bakery too. It was worth it...the best BLTandA ever!!!

Ranunculus are definitely my new favorite. Camille had these arranged with some of the blossoms that are all over SB right now, and I just loved them!

We all put together our sandwiches....and seriously, man, oh man, they were tasty. Elizabeth and I even went back for a second. Well, we made halves the second time...but I could have eaten another whole one. So yummy!

Fun, fun, as per usual!! Love the girls.

Hungry hungry kitty

After work today, I took a short trip to Forever XXI and found a few little things. Then I hopped into Nordstroms to buy the shoes that I've had my eyes on for the wedding. I'm not sure if they'll work but I still had to get them. :) Vanessa came to meet me there, she had to pick up a pair of jeans she had fixed. :)

Then we decided it was Friday, and it was a good time for us girls to hang out. So, we headed over to Hungry Cat. Since it's Camille's favorite place, when she called after her work, she skipped right over to join us. Magda came next, and then Amy too!! After a little while, we had half of the bar taken. They were the perfect seats as they are right next to the grill. So, we were entertained by Drake and Owen and their made skills in the kitchen.

At one point, Camille threw her hands up in the air, and exclaimed "This is the best meal I've ever had....at least tonight!", and we all shouted out in laughter. It really was a super tasty meal....the Atlantic char, the clams with chorizo, and whatever else it was that we ate....they were all delicious!! I'm highly recommending that my friends from TX take a night to enjoy this restaurant when they are in town.

After dinner, we stood out front for a bit and wondered if we should do something else. After a few minutes of trying to decided....we figured that the evening was already perfect as it was, and went our separate ways to go home. I had a wonderful night with lovely girls once again.

I know Brett had just as much fun with his family in Vegas tonight...and will for the next few days while he's there for work. I miss him already but am glad to spend time with my girls while he's away. :)

Pizza and New Friends

Tonight I got to meet some new people in SB. Some of Brett's former coworkers were in town and so a dinner gathering was arranged.

We had a great time eating pizza and getting to know everyone. I really do love meeting new people and tonight wasn't any different. Of course, I had to grab a picture at the end so I could remember the evening in photographs for later. :)

Freesia

Our sweet gardener, Brad, knocked on the door this afternoon to ask if we liked flowers. Um, yes!

So, he cut us off the freesia that was growing near the driveway before it was to be destroyed by the upcoming rain. They are so pretty, and fragrant and I loved putting them on the windowsill in our kitchen.

A Cherishing Sunday

Had a super relaxed weekend with nothing serious planned. After church today, Brett and I hung out and watched a bit of the Olympics. Mid afternoon, Camille came to visit with me. She brought me the most lovely vase of white and yellow ranunculus. I just discovered these flowers recently but they are quickly becoming my new favorite. They just make me so happy!!! I definitely think that they have booted Gerbera Daisies and Alstroemeria down the favorite ladder.

After a bit, we decided that we needed to get out and do something. How about The Boathouse? Ok!!

So, we headed over to Hendry's Beach, found ourselves a nice booth, and enjoyed each other's company and happy hour. It was nice to spend some time with Camille alone and get to know her a little better.

We invited Amy to join us, and I was so happy that she came too!! The three of us had a good old fashioned girl's gab session....and decided that it didn't have to end there.

So, we grabbed a bottle of wine from Lazy Acres, and met up with LB at the house. The 4 of us stayed there talking girl talk until past my normal bedtime.....even though I was the one that originally said that everyone had to leave no later than 9pm.

Even after they left, I was still on a happy high from awesome girl chat that I called them afterwards to thank them for coming. When I called Camille, she was on the phone with Emily, and so we had ourselves a super old fashioned 3 way call.

I truly do cherish my girlfriends and nights like these.

Sneak Peak

Ok...so maybe we weren't TOTALLY awkward for ALL of the time. I've gotten Em's pics, and seen a few sneak peek's of Amy's images too....but here is one for now.

I can't wait to see the rest and share them with you!! :)
