Emily and Taylor were roommates in college, and after school too, so she's been in our lives for quite some time now. <div><br /></div><div>Emily had written me to share her joy.....she was getting married. I was immediately smiling as I read her note about John Michael and their recent engagement. It worked out perfectly that we'd be able to meet up while I was in Texas over Christmas, and so I got to hear the rest of....or should I say, the beginning of....their story. <div><br /></div><div>The smile on Emily's face as she recounted how she'd admittedly already noticed John Michael's profile was adorably sneaky. She had noticed alright, but she had one "rule" - if she was to be connected with any of her eHarmony matches, he'd have to be the one to make the move. When her subscription was over, and no magic had occurred, she had resolved that God had different plans for her, and she was ready to move on. </div><div><br /></div><div>However, on the day the service was to end, she got a message. A message saying that "John Michael from San Antonio wants to connect with you". </div><div><br /></div><div>Emily's first thought was that eHarmony must have somehow known that she'd looked at his profile, and was trying to suck her back into re-subscribing...but....BUT....it wasn't that at all. John Michael had noticed Emily too, and he'd reached out to her. </div><div><br /></div><div>So, their story started there. They met. They dined. They talked. John Michael shared more than any boy she'd ever met before (which was a wonderful thing) and a real life connection was made. They spent a lot of time talking on the phone, spent time with each other's families, and on December 11, he asked Emily to be his forever. </div><div><br /></div><div>I loved hearing their story, and getting to spend some time with these two. Their love is innocent, sweet, and mature. I'm so happy that I was able to be there to witness it in person and capture their love story. </div><div><br /></div><div>Emily, John Michael....I pray for you the biggest blessings on your life, your marriage, and your union. Enjoy every moment!</div><div><br /></div><div><img style="margin: 0px auto; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 740px;" src="http://blogger.allthingsannemarie.com/images/EmilyJMBlog1.jpg" alt="" border="0" /><br /><img style="margin: 0px auto; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 740px;" src="http://blogger.allthingsannemarie.com/images/EmilyJMBlog2.jpg" alt="" border="0" /><br /><img style="margin: 0px auto; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 740px;" src="http://blogger.allthingsannemarie.com/images/EmilyJMBlog3.jpg" alt="" border="0" /><br /><img style="margin: 0px auto; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 740px;" src="http://blogger.allthingsannemarie.com/images/EmilyJMBlog4.jpg" alt="" border="0" /><br /><img style="margin: 0px auto; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 740px;" src="http://blogger.allthingsannemarie.com/images/EmilyJMBlog5.jpg" alt="" border="0" /><br /><img style="margin: 0px auto; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 740px;" src="http://blogger.allthingsannemarie.com/images/EmilyJMBlog6.jpg" alt="" border="0" /><br /><img style="margin: 0px auto; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 740px;" src="http://blogger.allthingsannemarie.com/images/EmilyJMBlog7.jpg" alt="" border="0" /><br /><img style="margin: 0px auto; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 740px;" src="http://blogger.allthingsannemarie.com/images/EmilyJMBlog8.jpg" alt="" border="0" /><br /></div><div>Emily is an Aggie. I gotta say, Emily was a lot more feisty than I'd thought. Gig Em! :)</div><div><br /><img style="margin: 0px auto; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 740px;" src="http://blogger.allthingsannemarie.com/images/EmilyJMBlog11.jpg" alt="" border="0" /><br /><img style="margin: 0px auto; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 740px;" src="http://blogger.allthingsannemarie.com/images/EmilyJMBlog12.jpg" alt="" border="0" /></div></div><br />For more of these two lovebirds....check out their <a href="http://slideshows.allthingsannemarie.com/EmilyJMSlideshow/">slideshow</a> too!<div><br /><object type="application/x-shockwave-flash" id="showit_swf" data="http://slideshows.allthingsannemarie.com/EmilyJMSlideshow/showit.swf" height="490" width="740"><param name="movie" value="http://slideshows.allthingsannemarie.com/EmilyJMSlideshow/showit.swf"><param name="flashvars" value="showit_embed=http://slideshows.allthingsannemarie.com/EmilyJMSlideshow/|740|490|1|0|0"><param name="wmode" value="transparent"><param name="salign" value="LT"><param name="menu" value="false"><param name="loop" value="false"><param name="quality" value="best"><param name="bgcolor" value="#000000"></object></div>Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com6tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6217844921185866438.post-90258518696759467412010-11-15T20:05:00.000-08:002010-11-15T20:23:45.291-08:00A Love Story :: Scott & AllieI spent Saturday afternoon with Scott and Allie. We had a great time exploring the bluffs area in Goleta and enjoying the wonderfully sunny and warm Santa Barbara afternoon. When asking about their wedding planning for September 2011, Allie explained to me their color scheme - Surf & Turf. <div><br /></div><div>Scott is an avid surfer and grew up around the water. Allie played soccer at UCSB and the land is her favorite terrain. I thought that was a neat combination of their personalities, interests, and a perfect explanation of their relationship. They just go together, and are always better with the other. Surf & Turf. I like it. </div><div><br /></div><div>I also like these two. They are just really sweet, and considerate of each other. Scott pays perfect attention to Allie, and they make each other smile and giggle. </div><div><br /></div><div>I think that the wait for their September 2011 wedding might be harder on me than it will be on them because I can't wait to be part of their wedding and capture their day!</div><div><br /></div><div>Enjoy some of my favorites, and be sure to check out the <a href="http://scottandallie.allthingsannemarie.com/">slideshow</a> too for even more of these two!<br /><div><div><br /><img style="margin: 0px auto; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 740px;" src="http://blogger.allthingsannemarie.com/images/ScottAllieBlog1.jpg" alt="" border="0" /><br /></div><div>I loved how so many spots that we ended up back in the bluff area just came to magic as the two of them go there. The sunlight was beautiful!</div><div><br /><img style="margin: 0px auto; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 740px;" src="http://blogger.allthingsannemarie.com/images/ScottAllieBlog2.jpg" alt="" border="0" /></div><div><br /><img style="margin: 0px auto; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 740px;" src="http://blogger.allthingsannemarie.com/images/ScottAllieBlog3.jpg" alt="" border="0" /><br /><img style="margin: 0px auto; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 740px;" src="http://blogger.allthingsannemarie.com/images/ScottAllieBlog4.jpg" alt="" border="0" /><br /><img style="margin: 0px auto; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 740px;" src="http://blogger.allthingsannemarie.com/images/ScottAllieBlog5.jpg" alt="" border="0" /><br /></div><div>As we walked down towards the water, Scott said "This is where I grew up". Even though I'm here now, I can't imagine what it would have been like to be able to enjoy this your whole life.</div><div><br /><img style="margin: 0px auto; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 740px;" src="http://blogger.allthingsannemarie.com/images/ScottAllieBlog6.jpg" alt="" border="0" /><br /><img style="margin: 0px auto; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 740px;" src="http://blogger.allthingsannemarie.com/images/ScottAllieBlog7.jpg" alt="" border="0" /><br /></div><div>I asked them if they wanted to do something cheesy and write their date in the sand....they were up for it. The reason I love this little series the most is that they took turns writing it out, and as silly as it sounds, it was a beautiful witness to how these two just get along so well, and blend together. Even as the waves washed away part of their handy work, they, once again, worked together to make it right.</div><div><br /><img style="margin: 0px auto; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 740px;" src="http://blogger.allthingsannemarie.com/images/ScottAllieBlog8.jpg" alt="" border="0" /><br /><img style="margin: 0px auto; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 740px;" src="http://blogger.allthingsannemarie.com/images/ScottAllieBlog9.jpg" alt="" border="0" /><br /></div><div>Aren't they just the cutest??</div><div><br /><img style="margin: 0px auto; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 740px;" src="http://blogger.allthingsannemarie.com/images/ScottAllieBlog10.jpg" alt="" border="0" /><br /></div><div>Scott can swing dance, and I loved watching a few of their moves as they moseyed in and out of the water. </div><div><br /><img style="margin: 0px auto; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 740px;" src="http://blogger.allthingsannemarie.com/images/ScottAllieBlog11.jpg" alt="" border="0" /><br /><img style="margin: 0px auto; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 740px;" src="http://blogger.allthingsannemarie.com/images/ScottAllieBlog12.jpg" alt="" border="0" /><br /><img style="margin: 0px auto; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 740px;" src="http://blogger.allthingsannemarie.com/images/ScottAllieBlog13.jpg" alt="" border="0" /><br /><img style="margin: 0px auto; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 740px;" src="http://blogger.allthingsannemarie.com/images/ScottAllieBlog14.jpg" alt="" border="0" /><br /></div><div>Enjoy the rest of your engagement and the rest of the wedding planning. I am looking forward to spending your big day with you both next year! God Bless!!</div><div><br /><img style="margin: 0px auto; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 740px;" src="http://blogger.allthingsannemarie.com/images/ScottAllieBlog15.jpg" alt="" border="0" /></div></div></div><br />Don't forget to check out the <a href="http://scottandallie.allthingsannemarie.com/">slideshow</a> too!!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6217844921185866438.post-30457117516888384332010-11-10T17:38:00.000-08:002010-11-10T17:43:55.822-08:00So, you may have noticed already........that this blog has been pretty baren lately. She has been coming to work with her Dad, Kent, for the last few months, and I gotta say, she's one of my favorite things about our office.<br /><br />She is the sweetest, most laid back Golden Retriever that I've ever met. She just sits on the floor in the Marketing Room all day long, barely lifting her head to passerbys. <div><br /></div><div>Every once in a while, I'll sneak over to their area, to say hi to her and get some puppy love. Earlier in the morning, I snapped a quick picture of her, and then came back for more at the end of the day. I had my company shirt, which no longer fits me, on my desk, so I returned it to Nora...but not before we tried it on Scout for size. </div><div><br /></div><div>It was the perfect fit, and she's the best part of our A Team. :)</div><div><br /><img style="margin: 0px auto; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 740px;" src="http://blogger.allthingsannemarie.com/images/111010Blog1.jpg" alt="" border="0" /></div>Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6217844921185866438.post-43062613412032809672010-10-12T20:17:00.000-07:002010-10-18T21:07:47.573-07:00A Family Story :: Ashley, Jonathan, Lilly & OliviaAshley contacted me after seeing <a href="http://blog.allthingsannemarie.com/2010/08/maternity-story-christi-jaimeson.html">Christi's</a> maternity session images. We traded some emails and picked a date and spot to meet up with her and her sweet family.<br /><br />Ashley and Jonathan's little girls, Lilly and Olivia, are just the sweetest and most adorable girls ever. When they popped out of the car in their little ruffle skirts, all dressed in pretty pinks and purples, I just smiled...despite that it was a colder than normal Santa Barbara evening tonight.<br /><br />Lilly was a natural from the word "go"! Such a beautiful little girl.<br /><br /><img style="margin: 0px auto; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 740px;" src="http://blogger.allthingsannemarie.com/images/101210Blog1.jpg" alt="" border="0" /><br /><div>She loves her Mommy...and she's THREE!</div><div><br /><img style="margin: 0px auto; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 740px;" src="http://blogger.allthingsannemarie.com/images/101210Blog2.jpg" alt="" border="0" /><br /><img style="margin: 0px auto; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 740px;" src="http://blogger.allthingsannemarie.com/images/101210Blog3.jpg" alt="" border="0" /><br />Olivia was a little more shy, and definitely Daddy's girl. She kept close to him almost the whole time.<br /><br /><img style="margin: 0px auto; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 740px;" src="http://blogger.allthingsannemarie.com/images/101210Blog4.jpg" alt="" border="0" /><br /><img style="margin: 0px auto; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 740px;" src="http://blogger.allthingsannemarie.com/images/101210Blog5.jpg" alt="" border="0" /><br /><img style="margin: 0px auto; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 740px;" src="http://blogger.allthingsannemarie.com/images/101210Blog6.jpg" alt="" border="0" /><br />Despite the different personalities...these little girls were sisters. The best kind.<br /><br /><img style="margin: 0px auto; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 740px;" src="http://blogger.allthingsannemarie.com/images/101210Blog7.jpg" alt="" border="0" /><br /><img style="margin: 0px auto; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 740px;" src="http://blogger.allthingsannemarie.com/images/101210Blog8.jpg" alt="" border="0" /><br />If you hadn't noticed already....Ashley is due with number 3 soon. The little bun in the oven this time is their little brother. He's due to make his grand appearance in December, and I think that the girls, and maybe Daddy too, can't wait!<br /><br /><img style="margin: 0px auto; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 740px;" src="http://blogger.allthingsannemarie.com/images/101210Blog9.jpg" alt="" border="0" /><br />Such an adorable little family.<br /><br /><img style="margin: 0px auto; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 740px;" src="http://blogger.allthingsannemarie.com/images/101210Blog10.jpg" alt="" border="0" /><br />I could have spent the entire time taking pictures of Ashley.....she is glowing, gorgeous and the camera LOVES her!<br /><br /><img style="margin: 0px auto; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 740px;" src="http://blogger.allthingsannemarie.com/images/101210Blog11.jpg" alt="" border="0" /><br />It was also easy to capture the love that she and Jonathan have for each other.</div><div><br /><img style="margin: 0px auto; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 740px;" src="http://blogger.allthingsannemarie.com/images/101210Blog12.jpg" alt="" border="0" /><br />Who doesn't love a little impromtu game of Ring Around the Rosies?<br /><br /><img style="margin: 0px auto; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 740px;" src="http://blogger.allthingsannemarie.com/images/101210Blog13.jpg" alt="" border="0" /><br />I couldn't help more alone time with just Ashley. Loving it.<br /><br /><img style="margin: 0px auto; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 740px;" src="http://blogger.allthingsannemarie.com/images/101210Blog14.jpg" alt="" border="0" /><br />As Ashley was sitting there, the girls came to join her on their own....but as hard as we tried to coerce them to both touch Ashley's belly at the same time, it just didn't happen. Then, all of the sudden, without any warning, they were done with that idea...and walked off. I just love the look on Mommy's face as they took off. Priceless!<br /><br /><img style="margin: 0px auto; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 740px;" src="http://blogger.allthingsannemarie.com/images/101210Blog15.jpg" alt="" border="0" /><br /></div><div>Congrats to your family on welcoming another baby into the world!! I had such a great time with you, and can't wait to meet the little guy real soon!</div><div><br /><img style="margin: 0px auto; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 740px;" src="http://blogger.allthingsannemarie.com/images/101210Blog16.jpg" alt="" border="0" /></div>Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6217844921185866438.post-54661543917034059402010-10-02T19:21:00.000-07:002010-10-09T16:52:45.083-07:00A Love Story :: Alison & JonoI got an email from Alison a few months back, saying that she was a coworker of <a href="http://blog.allthingsannemarie.com/2009/02/california-girl-story-bethany.html">Bethany's</a>, had seen her pictures from last year, and asked if I'd be interested in taking some engagement pics of her and her fiance.<div><br /></div><div>I was, of course, up for it, and we agreed to get back in touch with each other after Brett and I got married and returned from our honeymoon. After our return, Alison and I started to plan. We had a few dates and locations picked out at first...but then.....THEN....she came up with the neatest idea. </div><div><br /></div><div>Alison is the Ticket Manager for UCSB Athletics, and Jono is the Men's Basketball Coach....so they spend quite a bit of their time in the UCSB Thunderdome. She asked how I'd felt about spending part of our time together there. I agreed immediately and couldn't wait!</div><div><br /></div><div>I met Alison and Jono on campus and liked them both in an instant. As they changed into their super sharp outfits, I had some fun around the inside of the stadium with the numbers and letters in the stands....more to be seen of that in a bit. :)</div><div><br /></div><div>They came out, looking totally great, and were so much fun from the start. They were up for anything, and the two of them just had a really great time together no matter what we were doing.<br /><br /><br /><img style="margin: 0px auto; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 740px;" src="http://blogger.allthingsannemarie.com/images/100210AlisonJonoBlog1.jpg" alt="" border="0" /><br /><img style="margin: 0px auto; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 740px;" src="http://blogger.allthingsannemarie.com/images/100210AlisonJonoBlog2.jpg" alt="" border="0" /><br /></div><div>Alison got out there and showed Jono how it was done...in heels! She was a pretty good shot too!!</div><div><br /><img style="margin: 0px auto; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 740px;" src="http://blogger.allthingsannemarie.com/images/100210AlisonJonoBlog3.jpg" alt="" border="0" /><br /><img style="margin: 0px auto; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 740px;" src="http://blogger.allthingsannemarie.com/images/100210AlisonJonoBlog4.jpg" alt="" border="0" /><br /></div><div>I loved it when Jono came out of the locker room with props. It didn't feel like I was working at all....I had so much fun with these two!</div><div><br /><img style="margin: 0px auto; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 740px;" src="http://blogger.allthingsannemarie.com/images/100210AlisonJonoBlog5.jpg" alt="" border="0" /><br /></div><div>Alison said that this is a pretty typical scene from time to time....that she's in the ticket booth working while Jono will come by to say hello.</div><div><br /><img style="margin: 0px auto; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 740px;" src="http://blogger.allthingsannemarie.com/images/100210AlisonJonoBlog6.jpg" alt="" border="0" /><br /><img style="margin: 0px auto; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 740px;" src="http://blogger.allthingsannemarie.com/images/100210AlisonJonoBlog7.jpg" alt="" border="0" /><br /></div><div>After a quick change, we went to another part of campus that I hadn't been to before. The students of UCSB are so stinking lucky to have beach access from campus!! I would have never been able to get any work done if I had gone to school here!</div><div><br /></div><div>A short walk along the path before getting to the water's edge.</div><div><br /><img style="margin: 0px auto; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 740px;" src="http://blogger.allthingsannemarie.com/images/100210AlisonJonoBlog8.jpg" alt="" border="0" /><br /></div><div>Ahhh, the golden light was amazing right as we arrived.</div><div><br /><img style="margin: 0px auto; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 740px;" src="http://blogger.allthingsannemarie.com/images/100210AlisonJonoBlog9.jpg" alt="" border="0" /><br /><img style="margin: 0px auto; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 740px;" src="http://blogger.allthingsannemarie.com/images/100210AlisonJonoBlog10.jpg" alt="" border="0" /><br /></div><div>They didn't even blink as I kept asking them to get lower and lower in the sand...love it!</div><div><br /><img style="margin: 0px auto; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 740px;" src="http://blogger.allthingsannemarie.com/images/100210AlisonJonoBlog11.jpg" alt="" border="0" /><br /></div><div>I was so happy to meet Alison and Jono and learn a little bit about them, and their fun story. In between the tears, I just kept snapping. Hadley is one cute baby and I was so glad to have the few minutes that she wanted to cooperate with us. :)<div><br /></div><div>Dayna has taken to motherhood so well.....she's such a natural and I know I'll learn a thing or two from her one day. :)<br /><br /><img style="margin: 0px auto; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 740px;" src="http://blogger.allthingsannemarie.com/images/090610Blog2.jpg" alt="" border="0" /><br /></div><div>We got a few smiles from Hadley.....Brett was behind me trying to get her to laugh by shaking her snack container. At one point, he got a little too excited, and shook the 16-35mm lens instead....right into my head. Oops! Luckily, I recovered quickly....Hadley had a few more smiles left for us.</div><div><br /><img style="margin: 0px auto; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 740px;" src="http://blogger.allthingsannemarie.com/images/090610Blog3.jpg" alt="" border="0" /><br /></div><div>It was only her second time experiencing sand and I still don't think she got enough. After being "unplugged" pretty much all weekend...Brett and I stayed inside almost the whole time, except for leaving for some food and church.....we were excited to see our friends on Labor Day for some fun.<br /><br />Hadley hadn't napped that well in the car, so shortly after they arrived, we put her down for a nap, and broke our our new Settlers of Caatan game. It was Dave and Dayna's first time playing, only my second, but that didn't stop Brett from dominating the board. Yes, he won. He claims that he hadn't in quite some time, so I guess it's OK...but he has all of the rest of us aching to play again and take away his title.<br /><br />After a bit, Hadley woke up and we decided to get out of the house. We took a stroll down State St and at one point, D&D were inside, while Brett and I hung outside and played with Hadley. It's fun hanging out with other people's babies. :)<br /><br /><img style="margin: 0px auto; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 740px;" src="http://blogger.allthingsannemarie.com/images/090610Blog1.jpg" alt="" border="0" /><br />We stopped for dinner at one of Brett's favorite places....Chipotle...and then made it over to Butterfly Beach for a VERY short photo session. When we got out of the car, it was a little colder than we'd thought, and we don't think Hadley liked it all that much. But, we got some fun shots (see next post) and then bid our friends adieu. It was so fun hanging with the O'Neils...until next time. ;)<div><br /><img style="margin: 0px auto; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 740px;" src="http://blogger.allthingsannemarie.com/images/090610Blog8.jpg" alt="" border="0" /></div>Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6217844921185866438.post-27267105358417675512010-09-04T14:51:00.000-07:002010-09-04T14:53:13.640-07:00Ahh....Santa Barbara<div>Today was a sunny day......warm enough to want to be outside without a cardigan.....so we headed to the beach for just a little bit.</div><div><br /></div><div>We don't ever stay long, but the hour in the sun was just enough. Just as we got there, we spotted a line of birds across the sky over all the paddleboarders in the ocean. Perfect!</div><div><br /></div><img style="margin: 0px auto; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 740px;" src="http://blogger.allthingsannemarie.com/images/090410Blog1.jpg" alt="" border="0" /><br /><div>I hadn't noticed the lifeguards on the beach before....but then I noticed that their shirts said SANTA BARBARA BEACH GUARD so I guess they were there guarding the beach, and not our lives. Good thing I didn't try to get into the water. :)</div><div><br /><img style="margin: 0px auto; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 740px;" src="http://blogger.allthingsannemarie.com/images/090410Blog2.jpg" alt="" border="0" /></div>Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6217844921185866438.post-75568746441804987802010-09-03T20:49:00.000-07:002010-09-04T14:51:06.121-07:008 Days Old<div>Last time I saw Christi, little baby boy was still cooking....but he made his arrival and appearance on the 26th and I got to meet him today. </div><div><br /></div><div>He is so teeny tiny and perfectly adorable. So, I went to go visit with them on Thursday morning at their hotel before work. </div><div><br /></div><div>It'd been about 5 years since we'd seen each other (I think)....I remember visiting right after Carys was born.....although, it was like it was just yesterday. Kirsten and Alex hosted....they really know how to treat with a yummy dinner. Burgers, corn on the cob, a great salad and dessert too.</div><div><br /><img style="margin: 0px auto; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 740px;" src="http://blogger.allthingsannemarie.com/images/090210Blog2.jpg" alt="" border="0" /><br /></div><div>We had great conversations and a wonderful time with friends. Since Tioga Pass is closed during the winter, we decided to take it in the summer. It was a beautiful day and a really nice drive through the mountains to make it down to the Yosemite valley floor.<div><br /></div><div>We climbed all the way up to over 9000 feet....it got colder every turn we made. </div><div><br /><img style="margin: 0px auto; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 740px;" src="http://blogger.allthingsannemarie.com/images/082910Blog1.jpg" alt="" border="0" /><br /></div><div>When we got to the park, we stopped more than a few time to admire the views. They were pretty amazing!</div><div><br /><img style="margin: 0px auto; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 740px;" src="http://blogger.allthingsannemarie.com/images/082910Blog2.jpg" alt="" border="0" /><br /></div><div>We made it to the floor of Yosemite right around lunch and had pizza at Curry Village. It was surprisingly tasty and it definitely hit the spot.</div><div><br /><img style="margin: 0px auto; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 740px;" src="http://blogger.allthingsannemarie.com/images/082910Blog3.jpg" alt="" border="0" /><br /></div><div>On the way out of the village, I spotted a fox. [EDITED : Evidently I don't know my mountain furry animals....this would be a COYOTE and not a fox .] He walked right by our car. I grabbed the camera real fast and Brett had it still set on a previous setting....so the first pictures were jacked. Ooops!</div><div><br /></div><div>I finally got it to the right setting and was able to catch one shot of him right before he walked into the woods, right above where all the tents were.</div><div><br /><img style="margin: 0px auto; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 740px;" src="http://blogger.allthingsannemarie.com/images/082910Blog4.jpg" alt="" border="0" /></div><br />We made it home around 9 o'clock...Brett made it in record time. I love spending random, easy going days, with Brett like this one. Especially since he lets me sleep when my eyelids get so droopy in the car. I'm a lucky girl!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6217844921185866438.post-41343105777030432302010-08-28T20:52:00.000-07:002010-08-28T21:02:33.965-07:00A Day in Mammoth with Mom & DadWe drove up toward Mammoth Lakes last night after work, and pulled into greet my parents around 1130pm. They had been in Lake Tahoe the last few days for the car club, and we had made plans to visit with each other over the weekend. <div><br /></div><div>This morning, after a lovely breakfast of OJ and danishes, we made our way over to Mammoth Mountain to take the gondola ride to the top. </div><div><br /></div><div>It ended up being a LOT chillier than any of us had expected, or planned for, but luckily all of us had a jacket of sorts to try and keep warm. </div><div><br /></div><div><img style="margin: 0px auto; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 740px;" src="http://blogger.allthingsannemarie.com/images/082810Blog8.jpg" alt="" border="0" /><br /></div><div>The gondola took us up to the very top, at 11,000+ feet, and it was only 33 up there....but the views on the way up there were amazing!</div><div><br /><img style="margin: 0px auto; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 740px;" src="http://blogger.allthingsannemarie.com/images/082810Blog1.jpg" alt="" border="0" /><br /></div><div>The sky was crazy blue and the clouds were pretty sweet. We had to share the top of the mountain with all the bikers. They were all decked out with gear and helmets, but I agree with my Dad....it did look like they were having a lot of fun. Maybe next time Brett and I will have to do that!</div><div><br /></div><div><img style="margin: 0px auto; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 740px;" src="http://blogger.allthingsannemarie.com/images/082810Blog2.jpg" alt="" border="0" /><br /></div><div>Of course you need the obligatory group shot at the top. </div><div><br /><img style="margin: 0px auto; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 740px;" src="http://blogger.allthingsannemarie.com/images/082810Blog3.jpg" alt="" border="0" /><br /></div><div>Oh, and why not a few JUMP ones too!!</div><div><br /><img style="margin: 0px auto; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 740px;" src="http://blogger.allthingsannemarie.com/images/082810Blog4.jpg" alt="" border="0" /><br /></div><div>My Dad tried his own version of the JUMP...his was a little bit more calm. :)</div><div><br /><img style="margin: 0px auto; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 740px;" src="http://blogger.allthingsannemarie.com/images/082810Blog5.jpg" alt="" border="0" /><br /></div><div>I think that "they" call this an EPIC shot. </div><div><br /><img style="margin: 0px auto; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 740px;" src="http://blogger.allthingsannemarie.com/images/082810Blog6.jpg" alt="" border="0" /><br /></div><div>Brett had been trying to explain to us that in the winter there was hundreds of inches of snow covering all of the mountain. Not until we went into the exhibit center did we really understand what that meant. On the sunny summer day, the sign looked like it does on the left. In the winter....only the top rung of the totem pole shows, and barely at that. Crazy!</div><div><br /><img style="margin: 0px auto; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 740px;" src="http://blogger.allthingsannemarie.com/images/082810Blog7.jpg" alt="" border="0" /><br /></div><div>After making it down, and getting a bite to eat at The Yodler, we drove over towards June Lake. We pulled over to the side to get a group shot, and right then, my Dad tells us that he sees a bear. Of course he was kidding, but we all fell for it. Brett had the remote and got us all looking a little dumbfounded in the series. :)</div><div><br /><img style="margin: 0px auto; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 740px;" src="http://blogger.allthingsannemarie.com/images/082810Blog9.jpg" alt="" border="0" /><br /></div><div>All of the lakes in the June Lake loop were so pretty. It was so windy so there were whitecaps at each one.</div><div><br /><img style="margin: 0px auto; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 740px;" src="http://blogger.allthingsannemarie.com/images/082810Blog10.jpg" alt="" border="0" /><br /></div><div>We came back to the cabin, and taught my parents how to play Rook. My Mom and I ended up sweeping the men, totally by chance. Brett is still a little sore about it. :)</div><div><br /><img style="margin: 0px auto; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 740px;" src="http://blogger.allthingsannemarie.com/images/082810Blog11.jpg" alt="" border="0" /></div><br />Overall, we had a great time, and was happy that we were able to meet up with my parents for a quick visit on the west side of the country. What a wonderful day to celebrate their nuptials. We've been waiting for this day since their fairytale engagement in Paris and it was finally here. Everyone came together to make this day happen....and when I say everyone, I mean everyone. Jen and Jake's friends, and church families, helped in every part of the day. </div><div><br /></div><div>After all the girls got their hair and makeup done, everyone headed to Grace Church in San Luis Obispo. Each party started out separately to grab a bite to eat before getting into their fabulous wedding attire.</div><div><br /></div><img style="margin: 0px auto; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 740px;" src="http://blogger.allthingsannemarie.com/images/081410JJBlog1.jpg" alt="" border="0" /><br /><div>Both Jen and Jake were surrounded by the most amazing group of men and women for their special day. </div><div><br /><img style="margin: 0px auto; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 740px;" src="http://blogger.allthingsannemarie.com/images/081410JJBlog2.jpg" alt="" border="0" /><br /></div><div>They opted for a First Look which allowed us plenty of time to spend with them, and the bridal party before the wedding and festivities. There was a beautiful gazebo right across the street from the church that made for the perfect spot for their first time seeing each other as bride and groom on their wedding day. </div><div><br /><img style="margin: 0px auto; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 740px;" src="http://blogger.allthingsannemarie.com/images/081410JJBlog3.jpg" alt="" border="0" /><br /></div><div>I love being able to witness such loving love. </div><div><br /><img style="margin: 0px auto; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 740px;" src="http://blogger.allthingsannemarie.com/images/081410JJBlog4.jpg" alt="" border="0" /><br /><img style="margin: 0px auto; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 740px;" src="http://blogger.allthingsannemarie.com/images/081410JJBlog5.jpg" alt="" border="0" /><br /></div><div>The girls' flowers were done by Jen's cousin, April, of <a href="http://www.aprilflowersslo.com/April_Flowers/home..html">April Flowers</a> in SLO, and I have to say that she did an outstanding job. I loved the way that she put together the bridesmaid bouquets, combining soft white flowers with the details of the piney type punches of color. A family friend did the the billy ball boutonnieres and they were a favorite of mine too!<br /></div><div><br /></div><div><img style="margin: 0px auto; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 740px;" src="http://blogger.allthingsannemarie.com/images/081410JJBlog6.jpg" alt="" border="0" /></div><div><br /><img style="margin: 0px auto; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 740px;" src="http://blogger.allthingsannemarie.com/images/081410JJBlog7.jpg" alt="" border="0" /><br /></div><div>I snuck into where Jen was waiting right before the ceremony, as she watched all the guests being seated in the church. Such a special gift for her to carry her grandmother's Bible down the aisle with her.</div><div><br /><img style="margin: 0px auto; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 740px;" src="http://blogger.allthingsannemarie.com/images/081410JJBlog10.jpg" alt="" border="0" /><br /></div><div>I love this moment as Jen's Dad gives her away to Jake at the end of the aisle before he initiates the ceremony.</div><div><br /><img style="margin: 0px auto; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 740px;" src="http://blogger.allthingsannemarie.com/images/081410JJBlog11.jpg" alt="" border="0" /><br /></div><div>A special time of prayer with all of the parents over Jen and Jake's future and marriage.</div><div><br /><img style="margin: 0px auto; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 740px;" src="http://blogger.allthingsannemarie.com/images/081410JJBlog12.jpg" alt="" border="0" /><br /></div><div>We were giddy to be able to steal them away for a little big more after the ceremony. Jen had mentioned this field of flowers that was on the way back to where the reception was being held, and asked if we might be able to find a way to get into them. Well, we did....and boy, was it worth it. </div><div><br /></div><div>When we got closer, we learned, rather quickly, that the flowers had the most prickly leaf on them. So prickly that none of us were about to get that close.....well, except Brett. He took one for our team, and made his way into the crop to get this shot. Yeah, it was worth it. </div><div><br /><img style="margin: 0px auto; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 740px;" src="http://blogger.allthingsannemarie.com/images/081410JJBlog13.jpg" alt="" border="0" /><br /></div><div>The light was gorgeous, and we had an open field......one of my favorite places, so we had a little more fun with them before we got them back to their guests.</div><div><br /><img style="margin: 0px auto; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 740px;" src="http://blogger.allthingsannemarie.com/images/081410JJBlog14.jpg" alt="" border="0" /><br /></div><div>Back at Jen's parent's house, where the party was to be....Emily had, earlier in the week, painted "jake + jen" on the water tower for the occasion. It was such a fun addition to the plentiful details that friends and family put together for the party.</div><div><br /><img style="margin: 0px auto; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 740px;" src="http://blogger.allthingsannemarie.com/images/081410JJBlog15.jpg" alt="" border="0" /><br /></div><div>No detail was left undone. I think one of my favorites was how the glasses and drinks were served. You took a mason jar, wrote your name on it, and it was yours all night. The vanilla lemonade was a hit too!</div><div><br /><img style="margin: 0px auto; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 740px;" src="http://blogger.allthingsannemarie.com/images/081410JJBlog16.jpg" alt="" border="0" /><br /></div><div>In lieu of a traditional guestbook, guests were asked to type a note to the bride and groom on the old fashioned typewriters. I am so excited for the two of them and can't wait to meet the little baby boy.<br /><br />I asked to peek at the baby's room, and couldn't help take a few shots of the nursery. Christi did such an amazing job of decorating his room! What a lucky little guy. <div><br /><img style="margin: 0px auto; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 740px;" src="http://blogger.allthingsannemarie.com/images/081210StockhausBlog1.jpg" alt="" border="0" /><br /></div><div>We took the 15 second drive....not walk due to the baby belly.....to the end of the street to make it to the bluffs. I hadn't ever been over to this part of the bluffs, and it was so neat. I definitely want to go out there again. </div><div><br /></div><div><img style="margin: 0px auto; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 740px;" src="http://blogger.allthingsannemarie.com/images/081210StockhausBlog2.jpg" alt="" border="0" /><br /></div><div>These two are going to be the best parents....they already love this little baby so much!</div><div><br /><img style="margin: 0px auto; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 740px;" src="http://blogger.allthingsannemarie.com/images/081210StockhausBlog3.jpg" alt="" border="0" /><br /><img style="margin: 0px auto; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 740px;" src="http://blogger.allthingsannemarie.com/images/081210StockhausBlog4.jpg" alt="" border="0" /><br /></div><div>There is just something about the picture on the left below that I love. Deigs works with me, and used to sit right across from me at the office. Then he went and moved to open up the Dallas office - against my better advice that is. :) Brett and I had just started to get to know both of them when they left...so we wanted to pick up where we had left off. Danielle's other half was out of town for the night, so I insisted that she come join us too!<div><br /></div><div>I was excited to use our new dishes, glasses, and pots and pans to cook up a yummy pasta dinner. I also got to use our new placemats. I got used to using placemats after living with Laura, and now I love them. </div><div><div> <br /><img style="margin: 0px auto; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 740px;" src="http://blogger.allthingsannemarie.com/images/081110Blog1.jpg" alt="" border="0" /><br /></div><div>Dinner was super. Between the 5 of us, we polished it all off so there were no leftovers. The girls hung out for a bit in the kitchen after dinner, and Danielle and are even more bummed that Kari isn't in SB anymore. </div><div><br /></div><div>They're coming back to town in November for the SB Marathon....so maybe they'll be up for eating pasta again then. I hear you want to carb load before that kind of run. :)</div><div><br /><img style="margin: 0px auto; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 740px;" src="http://blogger.allthingsannemarie.com/images/081110Blog2.jpg" alt="" border="0" /></div></div>Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6217844921185866438.post-41056386853678878412010-08-08T22:03:00.000-07:002010-08-16T23:29:06.303-07:00A Wedding Story :: Laura and BenjaminLaura and Benjamin.....what an honor to be asked to capture your special day. You have given Emily and me such a wonderful gift!!<br /><br />Your story, well, it's been a wonderful one in the making. I guess I can tell it from my perspective....since I was fortunate to be there from the beginning.<br /><br />First, I met and fell in love with Laura and her infectious laugh and smile at home group. I begged her to live with me (and Danielle), and she said yes. At some point, it came up, and several people encouraged her to just "go for it" and put herself out there on eharmony.com. She did....and then......AND THEN.....she was matched with a cute boy named Benjamin. That was nice and all....BUT....."He lives in Montana. I mean, I'm never going to move to Montana. I probably shouldn't even keep talking to him". But, with more encouragement from loved ones, she went ahead and explored this match. He was kind, loved Jesus, and they got along....incredibly well. Why not, right?<br /><br />Well, it kept going well.....and I can still remember their first gchat video date. She was so nervous, but it lasted WAY longer than expected, and from there it just kept going. All of the sudden, Laura was driving to LAX to pick up Benjamin/Ben/Benny Montana....for his first visit. He brought her flowers and a wooden spoon. That might have been all it took to melt her heart.<br /><br />But, that wasn't it. Soon, Laura was taking a trip to Montana. Ben was in SB again. They met each other's families. And then....they were talking marriage.<br /><br />There was a ring. There was a proposal. There was a YES!<br /><br />I am getting teary eyed just thinking of how wonderful their story is, and how it was all put in place by a God that is much bigger than us, has bigger plans for us than we could ever dream up ourselves, and bigger than eharmony! :)<br /><br />Thank you for being a wonderful friend, a sister in Christ, and a beautiful bride!! I pray that you and Benjamin will have infinite years of happiness and wedded bliss. Love you both and hope you enjoy your wedding day story!<br /><br />And without any further delay.....the wedding day of Benjamin and Laura!!<br /><br /><img style="margin: 0px auto; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 740px;" src="http://blogger.allthingsannemarie.com/images/080810LBWeddingBlog1.jpg" alt="" border="0" /><br /><img style="margin: 0px auto; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 740px;" src="http://blogger.allthingsannemarie.com/images/080810LBWeddingBlog2.jpg" alt="" border="0" /><br /><img style="margin: 0px auto; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 740px;" src="http://blogger.allthingsannemarie.com/images/080810LBWeddingBlog3.jpg" alt="" border="0" /><br /><img style="margin: 0px auto; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 740px;" src="http://blogger.allthingsannemarie.com/images/080810LBWeddingBlog4.jpg" alt="" border="0" /><br /><img style="margin: 0px auto; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 740px;" src="http://blogger.allthingsannemarie.com/images/080810LBWeddingBlog5.jpg" alt="" border="0" /><br /><img style="margin: 0px auto; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 740px;" src="http://blogger.allthingsannemarie.com/images/080810LBWeddingBlog6.jpg" alt="" border="0" /><br /><div>Laura and Benjamin opted for a "First Look". The place that we found on the property for them to see each other for the first time was just amazing. It was the most beautiful forest!!</div><div><br /><img style="margin: 0px auto; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 740px;" src="http://blogger.allthingsannemarie.com/images/080810LBWeddingBlog7.jpg" alt="" border="0" /><br /></div><div>Yeah!! The flight ended up going pretty fast. I wouldn't say that I got a full 4 hours of sleep, but I feel a little rested. <div><br /></div><div>Who knew that the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame & Museum was only 15 minutes away? I sure didn't! Maybe Em and Laura Roth will end up there one day. What do you think?</div><div><br /><img style="margin: 0px auto; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 740px;" src="http://blogger.allthingsannemarie.com/images/080710Blog1.jpg" alt="" border="0" /><br /></div><div>Jessica was waiting for us as we exited the terminal....fresh off her own redeye flight from San Fran.
